Hello! Thank you for visiting my website.

I’ll do my best to share a bit about myself here, knowing we are all deeper and more complex than what a picture and bio can offer.

Austin wears a yellow dress and sits atop a picnic table and smiles. Greenery is visible in the background.

Austin Dixon (she/her)

I am a queer, white-bodied cis woman, practicing polyamory with my longtime life partner/co-parent. I have two kids, two dogs, one cat, and a sweetie who I travel to see often. I am passionate about community care and accessibility. I believe in the liberation of all humans, and in change, transformation, learning, and unlearning. I recognize and embrace that we are all imperfect, and believe that there is abundant space for us to try new things, mess up, heal, and rebuild in community.

When we collaborate to build your acupuncture experience at Practice Space, you are in charge of your own body. You are the expert, as well as the ultimate healer/transformer/change maker. I integrate my 15 years of experience in Chinese medicine into your process, & we work together to create the best treatment for you.

Thank you for doing this work with me.

Austin chats with a client prior to giving acupuncture services. Both are masked. They look at one another intently, in conversation.

My Training:

I hold a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, a Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Sciences (formerly PCOM), and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Extra thoughts and feelings at this moment:

  • There are many ways to feel better. In general, I do not like food restrictions. I would rather add foods than take them away.

  • I am not anti-medication. We should use all the tools we have to feel as best we can.

  • I know creating new routines and changing patterns is difficult.

  • I don’t have all the answers.

  • I am a human person that makes mistakes. I imagine you are, too. Let’s be human together.

  • I am always learning and unlearning, especially around systems of oppression and white supremacy culture.

  • I am unbelievably grateful to share space with the people that come to the clinic.
